  1. He is 100% correct. Look for brands that follow WSAVA Global Guidelines…currently Purina, Hill’s, Iams and Royal Canine (Eukanuba for dogs too) ONLY! Seriously, don’t fall for the boutique brands rhetoric. Human grade meat is not better. By products are not evil….
Look up peer review papers by certified veterinarian nutritionists (they take extra training). NOT info from boutique brand/petstore trained "pet nutritionists"

  2. My vet reccomends Purina One Chicken and rice I was at the vet yesterday and he said it’s fine to feed my boy purina one chicken and rice and that it’s healthy my.poor boy is on antibiotics and a drug to stop the diarreah he has had for a while so since my vet said it was ok I’m sticking with Purina One for now until he says otherwise

  3. I know when I read the label of hills and Royal Canine I scratched my head, But if you look into the research centers for both they are amazing. I can say this, my dogs smell better and movements are better with Royal canine. We have switched our new Frenchie to Hills because she’s really picky I’ll update in a few months.

  4. Many thanks, I have been researching "is taste of the wild better than blue buffalo?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of – Sonannah Curious Smasher – (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? It is an awesome exclusive product for discovering how to unlock the secret the dog food industry is hiding without the headache. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my mate got excellent success with it.

  5. A vet is the worst person to ask, they tell you to feed grain free dog food that give your dog DCM 😱

  6. Nice video content! Forgive me for butting in, I would love your thoughts. Have you heard about – Chireetler Eating Program Rule (do a google search)? It is a smashing one off product for discovering how prepare high quality raw dog food minus the headache. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my close friend Aubrey at last got excellent results with it.

  7. My cats are on a fresh food diet which is 100% meat with no cereal, veg or binding agents. It’s cheaper than most wet foods and for the life of me I don’t understand why dried foods are not either banned or banned from calling themselves ‘complete foods’.

  8. Dont ask a vet actuallyšŸ˜€ they will refer you to Royal Canin and Hills😃😃😃
    1. Ask your puppy breeder what kind of food the puppy used to eat. And follow at least fir a month. Then you can switch to another brand or for a diet of your choice.
    2. Carefully read all ingredients on the package. Preferably no corn, no weat, no cabbage or beans. They create alot of gas and indigestion.
    3. Canadian brands are good but too heavy and pretty fatty for toy breeds. Dont be afraid to experiment with local manufacturers. They doing great job.
    4. But be prepared to spend some money for testing different options. Before you ll get a best choice for your dog.

  9. The breed of your dog alone what matters if you dont have a working breed its pointless to feed your dog top of the line high energy high performance dog feed you have to stick with food that’s fit your dog life style. If your dog dont hunt complete or push his or her self to failer then you realy dont need it. An theres only a hand full of breeds that need food. Like german shepherd Belgian malinois the true american pitbull terrier dutch sheperd dog breeds that will work all day

  10. I bet the same people who think they know better than all vets about how to feed a dog probably don’t believe in vaccines, or round planets.

  11. Our animals deserve human graded food,80% fresh meat 20% fresh vegetables, stop promoting this highly processed garbage which is full of additives and junk, royal canine for example, first 5 ingredients,rice/corn/hydrolysed soya protein/wheat/chicken fat and the rest of the other shit they have thrown in?Does that sound good to you?highy processed food is fucking terrible for human beings so why you think it’s good for our dogs? Why do vets recommend this rubbish,is it because you get free case of mars bars everytime to sell a bag? Our animals deserve so much better people so please do your research and oh,stamps mean absolutely fuck all ! much love šŸ™Œ

  12. I feed my dog Dog Chow or Pedigree. However,I do notice a shinier coat with Pedigree. There is no reason to spend money on expensive foods since the dogs last the same amount of years.

  13. A vet is a pet food expert like a doctor is a nutritionist. AAFCO means nothing, American standards are horrible. Thats like saying the FDA is good. (Im American btw) Buy Canadian pet food.

  14. Food brands like whiskas, royalcanin and pedigree are all poison for your pets.
Boycott all food brands of Mars inc. !!!!

  15. BECOME A GOVERNMENT WHISTLEBLOWER AND YOU WON"T NEED PET FOOD BECAUSE THE FBI AND POLICE WILL KILL YOUR PETS !!!

  16. Most vets are also in the business of selling a misleading brand like hills which is overpriced and sell for around the same as reputable brands like orijen, stella and chewy, open farm etc.. .simply look at the ingredients..if you see corn and bi products stay away and always talk to a dog nutritionist not a vet who wants your money

  17. I just took over caring for a 14 year old pomeranian (owner passed)she came with Pedigree, but tonight I shared tuna with her and she ate a whole plateful and looks actually happy!!I think I won her over!
Nutritionally, is there a difference?can we switch?

  18. Purina’s website claims "At Purina, we’re passionately committed to making pets’ lives better".Ā Ā  Recent news has cast doubt upon this statement.

The president of AAFCO (Association of American Feed Control Officials) recently admitted on camera that it is a commonly accepted practice for euthanized pets to be sent to rendering plants where their bodies are blended and cooked into a mixture known as "meat and bone meal" that is used in many dry pet foods.Ā

Purina is the most commonly purchased low-cost brand of cat and dog food by low income pet owners who cannot afford to buy the more expensive high quality foods.Ā  It is also used in many rescues and shelters.Ā Ā Ā

All of the following Purina dog foods contain meat and bone meal:

Purina Dog Chow,Ā Alpo dry dog food, Purina Beneful, Purina Active Senior, Purina Fit & Trim, Purina Little Bites, Purina Healthy Morsels.

All of the following Purina cat foods contain meat and bone meal:

Purina Cat Chow, Friskies dry cat food.

Purina does not list the ingredients for its Deli-Cat and Kit & Kaboodle brand cat foods anywhere on the Internet.

Aside from the horror of your pet eating the processed remains of dead animals, there are more serious health risks.Ā Ā  The phenobarbital used in euthanasia has been found to remain in significant amounts in meat processed from euthanized animals.Ā Ā Ā  Euthanized shelter pets are often sent to rendering plants with plastic flea collars and ID tags still attached, where they are shoved into the shredding machine and these chemicals and other items are processed into the resulting meat mixture that is used in pet food.

  19. Dont listen to him ! All commercial foods are cooked 4-5 times over and have bad preservatives that made it last 2 plus years opened !!!

  20. I don’t live in the USA and I just adopted a dog with some problems. The advice here is as bad as most kibble. Dude looks good, though. What’s he eating?

  21. Cheap dry kibble full of chemicals, color dyes, fillers and minimal nutrients. Vets indoctrinated by the big dry food companies while in vet school. I feed my dog a raw diet with excellent results stated by my conventional vet.

  22. My now 83.3lbs 9 year old goldenddodle had his front paw amputated on May 28th about a week ago do to bone cancer (osteosarcoma) I switched his diet from kibble to Dr harveys paradigm food. How ever is costing me about $250 a month. I acording g to my math I have to buy about 25lbs of fresh meat (chicken, beef, turkey etc) to ad to Dr harveys food. This prescription kibble dog foods will be way cheaper but many people told me to stop giving kibble since it feeds cancer:(

  23. so… the "vet" in this vid tells me to "ask a vet" which is exactly why I came to watch this "vet"… thanks, bro.

  24. I guess they don’t teach nutrition to young vets … only home made or raw food is good for pets

  25. What are the chances of companies that produce junk food for people actually creating healthy food for pets? None….

  26. My cats don’t like all the ā€œbetterā€, more expensive kibbles. If they like the cheaper kibbles , so be it.
